The palentian village of Ledigos is located about 52 km northeast of the capital of the province. The center of the village is placed on the meadow of the river of the Templarios, this is one of the place name of the area of Castilla in which the essence of the Order of Temple and the knights monks can be remembered.
During the Middle Ages, the twon of Ledigos stood out as a place offered to the Santiago Apostol by Mrs. Urraca. In fact, in 1028 all the village was given in ownership to the church of Santiago de Compostela. Is for that fact that the village has a church dedicated to the Santiago Apostol, which was restored in the 17th Century and is placed on a small hill from where the next town can be seen, Terradillos de los Templarios, in which the locals still have lots of legends about a mysterious Order of knights, because this townn, which nowadays is part of Ledigos, was a territory of the Temple Order.
